The Kiwanis Club of Woodward is pleased to announce two $500.00 scholarships
and two $1,000.00 scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors from Woodward
County high schools.
The two $500.00 scholarships will be presented to worthy students that are OHLAP
qualified and have enrolled in post secondary education above the high school level,
considering the following criteria:
1) Any qualified Woodward County, Oklahoma high school graduate
2) 2.0 on a 4.0 scale or above while in high school
3) Selected for outstanding community service, academic standing and student
involvement.
4) Enrolled for at least 12 credit hours or considered a full time student at a post
secondary education institution defined as, but not limited to a university,
regional college, junior college, community college, vocational technical
center, or technical institute.
The two $1,000.00 scholarships will be presented to worthy students that have
enrolled in post secondary education above the high school level, considering the
following criteria:
1) Any qualified Woodward County, Oklahoma high school graduate
2) 3.5 to 3.89 on a 4.0 scale while in high school and have NOT been selected as
their schoolās valedictorian or salutatorian
3) Selected for outstanding community service, academic standing and student
involvement.
4) Enrolled for at least 12 credit hours or considered a full time student at a post
secondary education institution defined as, but not limited to a university,
regional college, junior college, community college, vocational technical
center, or technical institute.
The scholarship funds will be paid to the recipients once the recipients provide proof
of hours completed and grade points earned. Half of the scholarship amount will be paid
at the end of each semester. Recipient is to have earned at least a 2.25 grade point
average on a 4.0 scale, as a full time student, to be eligible to receive the scholarship
funds. An official transcript from the post-secondary education institution of grade
points earned must be presented to the Kiwanis Club of Woodward no later than January
20, 2022 for the first semester and June 20, 2022 for the second semester.

Seniors...make sure you are applying to any college or career tech you plan to attend next year, including housing if you will live on campus, and make sure you file your FAFSA at https://studentaid.gov/. You must file the FAFSA if you are an Oklahoma's Promise student and every senior going to higher ed should file a FAFSA. Some scholarships require it along with any aid you might qualify for.

The Kiwanis Club of Woodward is once again sponsoring the Walter Hurst Sophomore of the Year award for Woodward County.Ā All sophomores in the county are eligible.Ā It's an opportunity for underclassman to demonstrate leadership and the ability to follow directions in filling out an application.Ā The prize for the local winner is a scholarship of $250.00 to be awarded upon the graduation of the winning student.Ā The winning application is sent on to the Division 16 level to compete with other winners of the local contests.Ā The winner of the Division 16 group will then go on to the Texas-Oklahoma District.Ā At that point the prize for the best application is $600.00.

The University of Oklahoma's Majors & Minors Fair is an annual academic fair that features all of the academic programs OU has to offer. This year, they will be hosting the event virtually and are inviting your students to explore the options available at OU.Ā
This is a great opportunity for your students to visit with representatives from every major and minor program at OU and learn details about areas that can fit any studentsā interests from the experts in their fields. With over 170 different degree options to explore at OU, this event will help students know what is out there and learn which major and minor best fits.Ā Seniors who have been admitted to OU will also be entered into a drawing for a $1,000 scholarship to OU!Ā Ā Ā

Just got word that Sweetwater is allowing each participant a max of 4 fans tomorrow. They will have our roster at the gate and ask who you are there to see.

JH and HS will travel to Sweetwater together tomorrow. Bus will leave Mutual at 2:00
