Fort Hays State University will be hosting the spring College of Health and Behavioral Sciences Day at Fort Hays State University, Friday, April 4, 2025. This free event is open to high school students who are currently juniors and seniors in the 2024-2025 school year, as well as transfer students interested in careers in the health and behavioral sciences. Students will: Visit all six departments in the College of Health and Behavioral Sciences (Allied Health, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Health and Human Performance, Nursing, Psychology, and Social Work). Learn about academic, career, and other unique educational opportunities within the departments. Tour academic facilities, including clinical and simulation labs. Engage with faculty, staff, and students in each department. Once their registration has processed, a confirmation will be emailed with additional information, please tell them to watch for that in the next 24 hours.

Congressman Frank Lucas' office is excited to be participating in the 2025 Congressional Art Competition. The Competition provides the winning high school students the opportunity to have their artwork displayed in the United States Capitol along with free airfare for two to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony in Washington, D.C.
Students must be residents of Oklahomaās 3rd Congressional District to submit entries through our office. Addresses can be checked through the House website, but please donāt hesitate to reach out to Congressman Lucas' office if there is any confusion about a studentās congressional district.
To enter, please email a photo of the entry along with a completed student release form to Lydia.Sutterfield@mail.house.gov. Please review the linked guidelines and ensure that the artwork meets the Instituteās requirements, and that the artwork can be framed if chosen as the final winner. Digital entries must be emailed by April 18th, and a winner will be announced the following week. The winning entry should be framed and at our Yukon office by April 30th for delivery to Washington, D.C. Previous yearsā winning artwork can be viewed on the House website. OBI Scholarships for 2025 seniors; 4, $1500 scholarships that will be given away this May. To qualify for the scholarship, a high school senior must be enrolled in our Honor Cord Program, and have completed 6 blood donations by May, or volunteered 12 hours with OBI throughout their high school career.
Once those qualifications are met, a senior can submit an essay to myself, titled āThe importance of blood donation.ā
A small panel will review the essays and award 4 scholarships.
