Yesterday, HPTC hosted the Northwest Rookie Welding Contest, an event that was established 12 years ago to enhance the skills of competitors in the Northwest District towards both the district and State SkillsUSA contests. Every year, schools within the Northwest District are invited to bring two first-year welders per instructor to compete. This competition provides students with the opportunity to gain confidence, contest knowledge, receive prizes, enjoy a good meal, and meet other technology center students.
Congratulations to Dakota Walker for placing fifth! Great work, Dakota!

There will be no football game this week against Timberlake. They have opted to not play due to injuries. Pink out and mini cheer will be November 2.
Great way to give back!

Career tech and TAP students will not attend career tech Thursday, Friday and Monday, October 19 through 23. All career tech students must be at school by 10:50 a.m. TAP students must be at school by 9:50 a.m. Career tech and TAP students may ride the normal route buses to school if needed.
The juniors attended an ACT prep with Shelly Beaty at Northwest Technology Center at Fairview this morning. They had a tour of Northwest Tech hosted by Colt Shaw, Assistant Superintendent, a graduate of S-M.

Juniors will be traveling to Fairview Tuesday to participate in an ACT prep from 9-1130. Sophomores who would like to participate need to bring a $20 check made payable to Northwest Technology Center on Monday. There are a limited number of seats available so it will be on a first come first served basis. We hope to make it available to next year's juniors at no cost.
The Elem/JH football game October 10 at 6 p.m. will be at Canton. There will be no high school football game this week against Waynoka due to injuries.

We're taking you back in time! Remember, when we used to have races and contests at our local fair? Since we have encountered so many obstacles for our homecoming festivities, we decided to go retro. We will have the coronation in the East gym at 4:15 followed by a five set volleyball game. Mr. Coon will have the concession grill open from 4:30 to 7 PM. Following the volleyball game, we will move outdoors and have races on the street east of the baseball field, flag football on the football field and even an egg toss. Kids, bring your bicycles and your fastest running shoes. We would love to see everyone join in on the fun! Hope you can join us!!
Due to injuries on the high school football team, homecoming will be Thursday, September 28. There will be a pep assembly at 230 in the east gym at Mutual. Homecoming pictures will be at 345 with the coronation at 415.
Join us for see you at the pole Wednesday, September 27 at 7:45 AM! Thanks to the Sharon first Baptist Church. They will be there at 7:30 AM.
