Sharon-Mutual Public Schools

S-M students do not attend TAP or career tech Tuesday thru Thursday this week unless you provide your own transportation. If you are semester testing, you are responsible for knowing the testing schedule and being present at Mutual in grades 7-12.

Students who are exempt from semester test complete their semester today. Students who are required to test, should be at school tomorrow for the review and on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Horatio Alger Association will be awarding National Scholarships of $25,000 in addition to State Scholarships as well as other specifically targeted scholarships. We want to provide scholarships to students who, given the chance financially, could succeed in college. The application opens December 1 and will close on March 15. We hope you will share this opportunity with your JUNIOR Class. The requirements: ● Be enrolled full time as a high school junior in the United States ● Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree at an accredited non-profit public or private institution in the United States (students may start their studies at a two-year institution and then transfer to a four-year institution) Demonstrate critical financial need ($65,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required) ● Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities ● Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity ● Maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 ● Be a United States citizen There are additional Targeted Scholarships for your senior class listed on the website. The junior high basketball game scheduled for December 4 at Mutual against Vici has been moved to a 430 start time.

S-M 8th graders participated in 8th Grade Tours at High Plains Technology Center this morning to give them a sampling of career tech programs and resulting careers.

There is no TAP or career tech on Monday and Tuesday, November 20 & 21, HOWEVER, ALL students in grades 7-12 ARE required to be at school on both days at 8 am to work on their ICAPs.

The JH Taloga game has been cancelled tomorrow.due to Taloga has illness and homecoming.

The Leedey 5/6 and JH games Monday have been cancelled.
