The 2022-23 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is here! Here are a few tips you can share with your students.
This year students can access the FAFSA by visiting StudentAid.gov or by using the myStudentAid mobile app. The FAFSA should be completed as soon as possible after Oct. 1 to ensure priority consideration for some types of financial aid. Itās best to gather all necessary materials before starting the FAFSA. Since the 2022-23 FAFSA allows applicants to use 2020 tax information, families can use their 2020 return to complete the application right away! There's no need to wait.
To complete and submit the FAFSA online, students and one of their parents will each need to create an FSA ID (Federal Student Aid ID) at StudentAid.gov. This username/password serves as an electronic signature on the FAFSA and certain student loan applications, and allows users to access other federal student aid websites. Itās beneficial for families to create their FSA IDs before starting the FAFSA to speed up the application process. Visit UCanGo2.org to download an FSA ID Worksheet (in English and Spanish) to keep track of your information.
For more information and FAFSA resources, including educational tools and tutorial videos in English and Spanish, visit StartWithFAFSA.org.
If there is enough interest and logistics can be worked out, grades 7-12 will have the option to ride the pep bus furnished by the school and attend the regional volleyball game at Community Christian in Norman on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, leaving Mutual at 8 a.m. and returning after the final game at 1 p.m. Students will be required to pay their $7.00 admission fee to the game and will also need lunch money along with a signed permission slip to board the bus, NO EXCEPTIONS. Students will be returned to Sharon and Mutual where they will need to be picked up by parents upon returning from the games. A determination will be made on Tuesday if a pep bus is going or not depending on if enough students signed up in the office. Permission slips are available in the high school office.
