FAFSA FSA ID guidance
The FAFSA (federal financial application) will not be available until December, but seniors and their parents should go to fafsa.gov now to set up your FSA ID. It will take 1-3 days for identification matching to take place. When FAFSA is opened, a notice will be sent out. Parents, if you already have an ID from an older student, do not create another FSA ID. A new FSA ID should only be created by students who have never applied.

The Nike HSI Scholarship Program is designed to empower young leaders who currently attend a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI).
An HSI is an institution of higher education with an undergraduate student enrollment that is at least 25 percent Hispanic. Please reference the latest US Department of Education NCES list to confirm if an institution is designated as an HSI.
Award
Scholars are selected based on merit. Award amounts range from $5,000 to $10,000, based on demonstrated financial need.
Eligibility Requirements
Must be of Hispanic heritage
Minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).
Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited, public or not-for-profit, four-year university that is officially designated as a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) – as defined by the Higher Education Act of 1965. For more information, visit the US Department of Education NCES list.
Other
No documents are required for the successful submission of Phase I. In October, students selected to proceed in the application process will be required to submit their undergraduate transcript(s), financial aid award letter, and enrollment verification.
Students who are first-year undergraduates, and who do not have undergraduate grades for summer/fall 2023, must submit their high school transcript in October, if they proceed in the application process. Students who submit a high school transcript must have obtained a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).

It is time for your Sophomores to apply for Camp RYLA! For those of you who aren't familiar with RYLA - iRYLA+ (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) prepares students as leaders in this world. students come together from the across the district for a leadership experience like no other. Camp RYLA is 100% free to accepted applicants! The Woodward Rotary club will cover all costs of accepted applicants. Because of this, we are only looking for students who are committed and are up for the fun and the challenge. Attendees learn how to most effectively utilize everyone on the team and how to stay sane in this crazy, busy world. Students participate in challenging activities, explore character qualities and learn about what it takes to be a leader in the community. We accomplish all of this in unique and fun ways. Deadline is August 27th.
The camp is a combination of virtual and in person- October 2-4 are held in a digital environment, evenings only. October 6-8 will be the in-person, overnight at Central Oklahoma Camp & Conference Center in Guthrie, OK.)

Snyder HS vball Saturday
The football game against Billings. Tomorrow evening has been pushed back to 8 PM due to the heat.
There will be a junior class after prom committee meeting at 6:00 pm in the Sharon cafeteria on Wednesday August 30th. All Junior parents are encouraged to attend!
The Billings football game for August 25 has been rescheduled for August 24 and will be played at Mutual.
The junior high football game will be at 5:30 at Buffalo today. There will be no elementary football game today.
Sharon-Mutual Booster club will be having a meeting on August 21st 5:30pm in Sharon elementary cafeteria to discuss the 2023-2024 school year. More participants are needed as this year, Brandon Spray and Angela Clem would like to step down as officers. We will need to elect new officers. If you are interested in taking the leadership in the Sharon-Mutual Booster club, this is a meeting you NEED to attend.
ALL students grades 7-12 should be at school at 8 a.m. including career tech students tomorrow. See you bright and early!
