Mrs. Green has received a $1,478.73 STEM grant from the Toshiba America Foundation (TAF) for a "Rocket Math" project. The grant will pay for model rockets, materials to launch the rockets, data sensors to attach to the rockets, and a camera to record the launch of a rocket. Students will use data collected from the rockets to apply mathematical concepts. Students will also learn how to code and analyze data from a data sensor to predict effects of alternate outcomes. Overall, students will learn problem solving skills to overcome obstacles. Mrs. Green is very excited to get this project going and share what students learn.

Mrs. Shockeyās first grade class enjoyed indoor recess by reading their way through an agility course with written instructions featuring dance breaks, balance obstacles, and coordination challenges. Giggles and silliness made photo ops interesting!

3rd and 4th Grade got to go to the Cotton Farm!
Through the Cultivating Classrooms Program the 3rd and 4th graders have completed a unit on cotton. We learned everything from planting to clothing. We were able to join a farmer from Hobart on a zoom. The greatest part was our field trip to a cotton field in Arnett. The students and teachers would like to thank the Dowler family for letting us explore their cotton field. We would also like to thank the community for our wonderful bus ride.
